The Coleman's | Jason Coleman - Moonbow Farmer
Jason Coleman is a graduate of the University of Kentucky With A Bachelor Of Science in Sustainable Agriculture. In his life time, he has been a jack of all trades. He has been a cowhand, a horse trainer, a chef by trade, a steel worker and most importantly, a farmer. His skills allow him to be versatile and do most things himself which makes him a great farmer. He loves music as much as he does his food so you won’t be surprised to see him in his tie dyed grateful dead shirt while harvesting with his headphones on. He has worked in small farm agriculture and with C.S.A.’s for the last 10 years. His resume includes High Tunnel Manager for the University of Kentucky Organic Research Farm and C.S.A. farm hand and General manager for the Inn at Dos Brisas in Chappell Hill, Texas.
Having Family ties to Bay City, his wife Allison is a graduate of Murray State University with her Bachelors of Science in Agriculture with a focus in Animal Health Technologies. She is a licensed vet technician but has a passion for local business and healthy eating. She has worked with Kentucky Derby winners down to stray animals and still finds time for her family and the farm all the same. She has been Jason’s partner (boss) for 18 years now and has helped bring to fruition this dream of having a community farm. Her family roots have ties all the way to 1850 in this area and believes in the longevity and stainability of our local community. Please join us in our journey to give Bay city and its surrounding areas the food security it deserves!
